Hi all.

This is for a NON-overclocking system, as it's on an H77 board. So turbo mode only. I'm not sure which 3770 to go for.

3770T - 45W TDP, slowest clocks but when turbo'd, the gap closes up considerably. Joint cheapest of the four.

3770S - 65W TDP, clocks aren't that far behind the 3770/3770K but it is a tenner more than the 3770T/3770.

3770 - 77W TDP, clocks almost the same as the K, joint cheapest.

3770K - 77W TDP, highest clocks but wouldn't use the overclocking potential. I'm also thinking this would lose the least value over ownership and be the easiest to sell in the future?

So what do people think? I'm pretty torn between the 3770T and the 3770 personally, with them being the cheapest.

Considering you won't be overclocking then I would go with the i7 3770.

It is a pretty nice price and basically as quick as the 3770K.

Had a sort of different think about this, from what I can see, as a gamer/general user, I wouldn't really benefit from an i7 over an i5?

Which ever one you go for it might be an idea to get the K version if there isn't too much price difference purely for the resell value, as they'll be more desirable.

Indeed, for those uses you may as well get an i5 CPU and save some money while maintaining great performance.

Not just that, i'd like the HD4000 in the event that I ever need to fall back and rely on it for light gaming (had to do this with the i5-650, it was nasty) and also the pricing is very close on the i5 line.
