The SAM240 seems to be out of stock, have been surfing at other options. Price isn't an issue for any of these, (this list posted here purely because it shows the range of Samsung and Benq that is available). What do you guys think? Will be used for FPS gaming and occasional film. Will not be watching TV on it.

The FP241W is the best monitor there for image quality, as it's the only one with a H-IPS panel. I think all the rest use TN panels. It's fairly cheap too, considering the price of other non-TN 24" panels.

I would go for the FP241W, if you don't mind the plain look of it. Most likely you will not notice any input lag or response lag, and the image quality and viewing angles are much better than all the rest there.

BenQ G2400WD !

It's just fantastic. :)

Use mine for games on the PC (virtually no input lag, and almost no ghosting (none apparent)), driving games on the PS3, as well as DVD/BluRay films. Excellent colour representation, as well as very good greys.

I thought th FP241W was based on S-PVA. In any case, it's the best out of that lot. My friend has one and its fantastic.

Does he game with it Helios?

He does a bit but not too much, he isn't a serious gamer. When he first got it, I had it next to my screen (old tn based hyundai l90d+) and was simply blown away by the image quality. I don't know how it compares with newer screens but with spva being better than tn, I'd go for it. I never noticed any lag while playing on it.

You're both incorrect, it's a P-MVA panel (made by AU Optronics, PVA's are made by Samsung).

Ah, yes. I was thinking of the HP. Either way, many sites still rate the FP241W as the best 24" monitor there is. And considering it's £100 cheaper than the NEC, HP and Dell 24" monitors, I'd say it's well worth the money. If the looks don't bother you, anyway (I want a black one, but they cost about £150 more, because they're imported).

I have the FP241W and its superb. Dont notice any lag or ghosting and other than being overly bright from the factory its perfect. I bought it when it was £450 and was worth every penny imo

The new FP241WZ is A-MVA, the old one (without the Z) was on the market long before the A-MVAs came around. (Although it is splitting hairs, their just a respin of the old ones)

This site does indeed list it as a P-MVA (AUO M240UW01 V0) panel, so either way, it is certainly the best of those listed..
