We are moving house in a week or so, and we are going to have to buy loads of furniture etc, we have decided to go have a look in IKEA.

Now the dilema...

Both Milton Keynes and Wembley are equal distances from our house.

Is one bigger/better than the other? We have never been to either.

Are they surrounded by other shops?

Which should we go to today?

Cheers all,

G

The ones that burn down!!! No more swedish imports!!! (joking)

lol useful replies so far :p

Anyone know if there is anything going on at Wembley stadium today that might make traffic not worth bothering with?

Cheers,

G

I have only been to the wembley one which is huge but i think they are all quite big. be prepared for huge checkout queues and take a pen and paper to write down what you want from the warehouse bit. wembley store doesn't really have much near by (it's on north circular) but is does have a cafe instore. also a McDonalds next door. I personally would never go at the weekend but if you work it can't be helped. good luck.

Aren't they all the same in terms of contents anyway? The nearest one to me is Wednesbury (aka J9-M6), it has a restaurant at the start and a shop/cafe at the end with lovely swedish food.

seen as NO one has actually said which is best, IMO, if you can be bothered with the traffic, go to wembly. I go there occasionally and I live in Milton Keynes. its much bigger and has stuff that the MK store doesn't have! :)

hope that helps

I would suggest the Ikea at Lakeside, Thurrock. Big shopping centre near by and also ILVA which are like Ikea but much better IMHO!!
ILVA furniture is better quality and looks better, check out their website.

So in summary go to Lakeside as you'll have more choice......;)

ps: Not sure where you live but Lakeside is just off the M25 so presume it's closer to you than wembley, or at least not much further away.

If he lives between Milton Keynes and Wembley, then Lakeside is much further away!

Having been dragged round both severel times i can say that, although you may be same distance, Wembley will take far longer to get in and out of.

That said imo Wembley is far better.

I am about the same distance now between Bristol, Croydon and Wembley and although Wembley is a PITA, i would go there everytime, but be prepared for it to take atleast an hour more than you expect
