Hey, well I need to get this internet sorted today really and I'm trying to find out which internet is best for around leeds student areas as the internet can be pretty dodgy at best i've heard with some of the ISP's.

Virgin media apparently isn't allowed so we will have to pay for a land line as well, ridiculous tbh.

I was thinking of going with BE but it's not cheap and it seems them and O2 (same company I think?) both want £85 set up fee which is just feels like I'm being robbed. Virgin media are far cheaper set up (sometimes free) and they have to dig up your front garden!

Either way, going to ring up and tell them virgin media can do this what can you do for me? Even though I can't have virgin media.

Six and half a dozen.

Be do 9 month contracts and you can get £25-30 cashback, O2 do 12 month contracts but you can get £120 cashback. Be never complain about usage either.

Well I rang up virgin media.

50mb, free set up (as opposed to 85 quid for BE) 9 month contract at 30 quid for the first 3 months and 35 after. Much cheaper than anything else I could get and at 50mb I should dodge all the student traffic on the 30mb band.

Cheers anyway guys. All sorted.

I've been with VM at home for about 4/5 years now and only had about 3 outages. My area is particularly bad for them and they have admitted there is a problem in colchester area for it and are trying to fix it.

I know however that at uni it can be a differnt matter because so many students have it.
