Hello,

Just got a 32gb ipad wifi! I was going to wait until going to New York in January but after tax/poor exchange rate I wasn't going to save much and it will keep me entertained on the flight.

I'm now looking for a decent case for it. What case are you guys using? I've looked at the official apple leather one but wanted to see what else is out there. Budgets £50. Would like something a little different that will also protect the ipad from any knocks.

Thanks
Mark

I have ebay item: 400173973427 a few others do. The only annoyance with it is the flap.

The main picture in the description. If the iPad is in that position it will push the flap down and therefore result on leaning onto the table.

/waits for Raymond Lin. He has so many cases.

There was also a order of the http://www.dodocase.com/ which people waited ages for. I'm sure now though shipping is quick as the demand isn't as high ;) Some people had problems with the case, various different things.

I've used the official case and it's not too bad. I didn't like it at first it felt a bit cheap and the iPad seemed to fit a little awkwardly in the case. It seems to have softened up a bit now with use and fits a lot better and the cover now lies flat which it didn't before.

In terms of protecting it from knocks the edges have a little bit of extra material that would certainly stop it getting dinged against a doorway or something. I still wouldn't like to knock it off a table but the case would be better than nothing.

One thing I do find myself wanting is a sleeve to carry a bit of paper and a pen but most people won't miss this.

I use the official case too. So far there hasn't been a single other case out there that offers the same protection, for a reasonable price. The damn thing doesn't half get dirty easily though and some marks still remain even after applying water.

I've got two, the first one I bought was the TuffLuv Bi-Axis and now I have the Official Apple case which I got from the States.

The former is a bit chucky but very practical with lots of different viewing angles and pretty good protection.

The Apple case is less functional but looks sleaker and is thinner and lighter.

I have one of these. It's a cracking case, the iPad is well protected. My iPad hasn't been in the dodocase since I got the Aligata one.

Zagg invisibleShield. Bit of a faff to fit but better protection against dust and scratches and not as bulky as a case.

I use the official case as well, I think it is actually quite smart and no fuss.

Ditto. Sleek and for me it offers enough protection. After a while it softens up a bit ie the flap is less stiff when opening and closing it. I spent a lot of time searching around. It just boils down to how much you want to bulk it up for added protection. My iPad lives at home 99% of the time so don't need loads of protection.

I've been thinking about getting another cheap case like the apple one. But it's that thin it won't offer any drop damage?

While at lest this snugg case is sort of thick

Holding up very well, in fact it looks the same as when I first bought it.

I've also applied an invisible shield to the iPad, but I'm not that happy with it. The front shield has some sort of weird lines down the front, I remember the shield folding back on itself and getting stuck on application so I must have stretched the shield.

Tempted to take it off, but it really does keep the finger marks down, also means when I go to clean it I can just wipe over it without fear of scratching it with the cloth!

Griffin Leather case with business card holder on the inside ((not sure of exact one, it came with it)).

Pretty nice, but I'm rocking it naked at the moment. :p

I like that but I think a few things would annoy me. It covers the switch for orientation lock. Though it's turning into a pointless mute switch. And also covers a speaker up.
It looks easy though to put in and take out, which is good because I want to show off my gelaskins /when it arrives :P
Also is quite thick so good protection
Though it can't stand up can it? Angles etc

I like the snugg apart from the flap. It's easy to take in and out and looks fine. Would love it with a good flap. The apple case just seems to think and plenty of people say its bad.

I carry it around in a netbook case and a snugg leather ipad case but most of the time when using it I use it naked (the ipad, not myself.... most of the time)
