Which iPad for daughter for drawing?

Had a quick search but didn't spot anything...

My daughter draws a lot paper/Android phone/Windows tablet. But a lot of tutorials she follows seem to rely on apple only software. I'm happy to get her an iPad and associated pen, but have no idea which model would be best to start her on.

Any suggestions for where to start?

One that takes Apple 2 Pencil.

Mostly because the 1st gen pencil wins the worst design ever, high risk of it breaking when it's charging.

So that leaves the iPad Air and the Pro. Pro if you want the high refresh rate screen but I wouldn't. Not for a child, no need.

btw, ProCreate is the app to get. It's not that expensive but very powerful and easy to use.

I'm going to hop onto this thread as I'm in the same position as the OP. My 11yr old daughter is an avid drawer and we want to get her a tablet/pen for her digital art. I'm weighing up the options and narrowing it down to Pencil v2 and therefore Air/Pro helps. Should I just look for the best deal I can on the latest models? Or can some money be saved with older iterations/refurbished, without sacrificing too much performance? TIA.

As an aside, I was hoping to get something that I can run Sonos Trueplay as I've just gifted myself a new soundbar and surrounds, but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to?

You can use Apple Pencil (2nd generation) with these iPad models:

iPad mini (6th generation)
iPad Air (4th generation and later)
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)

So if I were in your shoes, either the 1st gen iPad Pro or the iPad Air 4th on the list or later.

Black Friday is just over so there is less deals but Christmas sales is round the corner so you can try your luck then?

As for Sonos, sorry, no idea, I expect there may be an app?
