Which Ipad should I buy

The mrs wants an Ipad for Christmas.

full size not the mini

so points me in the direction of the iPad air 2.
My question is, is it worth going a generation older?

mainly be used for internet browsing, maybe some small games whilst away.

I have seen the refurbed Ipad air 2 for £299

just trying to get best bang for buck. happy to pay full price for a new one
 
the £299 refurb is only 16gb, id wouldnt advise anyone to get that. my mrs had that and kept complaining it runs out of space quickly.

id recommend at least the 32,64 minimum.
 
Jumping in here a bit, apologies for the thread hijack OP but is the iPad 4 mini the same processor/as powerful as the Air 2?
 
Some people with 16s are having trouble upgrading when new versions of iOS are released. I'd say 32GB minimum, 64GB preferable.

I have the 16GB version of the original mini and always run out of space.
 
Night and day difference between Air and Air 2. Get the Air 2.

In terms of size, depends what she wants to do on it. I only stream videos and browse the internet so 16GB is perfectly fine for me.

this we have the 16GB and have never had an issues with free space as pretty much all we use it for is browsing, looking at holiday pictures etc unless you are likely to fill it up with music and pictures or hundreds of apps then 16GB is fine for a consumption device.
 
I'm leaning to the iPad air 2 anyway, just thought I would check no one said, get the 4th gen the airs a waste or similar.

It won't have much on it, mainly browsing and streaming netflix etc. wont be used for storage as its all stored on my pc anyway.
