Ok so my daughter needs a new phone and wants an iPhone (I've not had one since the first couple of versions)

She stays away at school during the week so needs to be reliable / decent battery life and not have reception problems....

Given I have little interest in Apple products whats the best bang for buck iPhone she should get - I'm not buying an X but I don't see much between some of the other models. Given its also going to be on a 2 year contract - no idea on versioning these days and if the lower end models are still supporting in say 2 years

Depending on her age, just get a iPhone SE of if she'd prefer a larger screen then a 7 if they're available still. Might work out cheaper to get the phone from Apple and then get GiffGaff or similar on SIM only.

Have a look at CPC, they have some older models if you want to pay less.

Costco is a good place to buy, they are a little discounted on the new models. Also check John Lewis as they have reasonable prices too.

Another vote for iPhone SE. Sounds ideal. :) comes in 4 colours too.

I’ve owned 2. Both were flawless (apart from one had a bug with the control center). Good battery life. Screen is just the right size. Not too big not too small. Processor is more than enough for the resolution of the screen. 2gb ram etc.

Also price is a big selling point.
