Hi guys been out the computer market for a long time now, so which of the below is the best / fasts for a netbook i need to pick one.

Processor AMD A4-3305M Dual Core (1.9GHz, 1MB Cache, AMD Turbo Core up to 2.5GHz)

Processor Intel Pentium Dual Core B970 (2.3GHz, 2MB Cache)

AMD E-450 (Dual Core) Processor 1.6GHz 1MB Cache

AMD E2-1800M Dual Core 1.7GHz 1 MB L2 cache

Intel Celeron B820 1.7GHz

Also should you always pick dual core over 1 ?

thanks a lot

A netbook always has an Atom CPU so I suspect you mean a notebook.

Out of those the Pentium is strongest, but they're all pretty weak CPUs.

I know its only for a cheap notebook but i always like to get the best for my money so i always ask the people who know best.

so on a cpu test the pentium would come out on top?

thanks

I'm looking at the Celeron range for a cheap laptop for my sister.

If there anything like the g530 in my desktop PC it can handle anything thrown at it.

is just has cheap and should be better maybe :)

B970, No doubt in my mind.

It's literally a mobile version of the G530, with a slightly slower Intel graphics solution, 650mhz, vs the G530s 850mhz

Regardless they are both sandybridge, and therefore I would say the first point of call.

I would go for the AMD A4 if you're considering some light gaming. The inbuilt GPUs on the Intels are rubbish.

In low/mid end laptops I would say AMD has the edge, even if the CPU performance is lower, but the GPU side can make up for it.

I would go with the A4 too,as I suspect it should be better overall for gaming. The IGP in the A4-3305M seems virtually the same as the one in the desktop A4-3400. The CPU section should be fast enough for activities such as web browsing and office work.

You're not going to do any gaming with any of them surely? Wouldn't a gaming laptop need a dedicated GPU?

For light gaming the A4-3305M will probably still be better. I have the HD2000 in my Core i3 2100,its actually OK for some light gaming, but the A4-3305M IGP seems not to be far behind in specifications to the one in the desktop A4-3400.

You could probably get away with something TL2,TF2,L4D or UT3 on it at lower settings and with better framerates than an HD3000 IGP I would suspect. However, the Pentium dual core uses an HD2000 IGP.
