Which is best for 1440p?

I think all those will struggle, the 1050 would be the best card but the 2GB of VRAM will seriously cripple it at that res. 550 has 4GB but will be far too underpowered unless you'd be willing to run at minimum to low settings

What games @ 1440p

Technically 1440p can be played on any of those cards e.g. cs:go or games with low graphics settings.

Suggest you buy a 1070 ti for a good experience @1440p

You are going to need a card with more grunt than any of those unless you like playing with very low settings. For 1440p you should be looking at a GTX1070 at least.

Is it a standard 1440p monitor or a Freesync/Gsync one? If it's standard then you can run either brand. If it's Gsync then you need a Nvidia card. If it's Freesync then you need a AMD card. I use a Dell S2716DG 27" 1440p Gsync monitor coupled with a GTX1070 and while the 1070 does a sterling job I would not choose a lower card to run at this res.

He doesn’t NEED either card at all. Either will work in any combination.

It’s just that the monitor will take advantage of certain brands of card depending on its ‘sync capabilities.

Ok maybe I should have made it clearer but why would you buy a monitor with either Freesync or Gsync and not buy a card that would make use of it though?

we need to know what he is playing, if he has a 1440p and these cards are an upgrade than he must be playing a game that works on an older card already, is he playing GunZ the duel if so then a 680 will storm it.. with low end game is more important than model differences

Would be dumb to get a Gsync monitor and AMD card though. I would get a 1070ti.

The cards in OP are barely good enough for 720p.

OK don't worry bout that, all i need to know from you guys is. Which cards best for the £100 mark with a 1440p monitor that's got freesync?

Any of the AMD ones in the OP providing you are not playing any games. You wont get a £100 card playing games at 1440p have you not read the above.

If you want a educated response we need

1. budget
2. type of monitor being used
3. what games you play/what you are using PC for.

The problem is there isn't any card that meets your requirement. Simply put £100 is not enough to get a card than can cope on modern games at 1440. It's barely enough for 1080p.

Why would you aim for 1440p with that budget?

It simply isn't possible.

The best cards you can get for £100 you have listed and will do 1080p with medium settings.

If I was you I'd stretch the budget to the 1050ti on offer which will do 1080p confortably although not usually at high settings

or look at second hand cards (GTX 960 or 970).
