Ive been looking through hundreds of posts and seem to be getting more confused the more i read.The question is Which is the best opteron to go for? Ive found from previous posts this info.

148 CABYE 0542
146 CABNE 0545
146 CABYE 0543
146 CAB2E 0546
144 CACJE 0546

Any help would be appreciated as im ready to buy

I think the 146 CABNE's are the best.

/curses his 144 CAB2E which he purchased hoping it would be better than the 146's everyone else was buying...

i think you will find its a bit of 'hobsons choice' if you are trying to buy a new opty as the 0545/0546/0543 etc are week of manufacture date codes. If you are buying second hand tho, the 146 one to go for apparently is week 0540 but they are like hens teeth to get hold of & people have been paying over 200 quid on a certain auction site (madness!!)

146 CABYE 0543's are very good, better than CABNE0545's i would say.
