HELLO THERE IM LOOKING TO UPGRADE MY MOTHERBOARD I HAVE AMD PHENOM X4 9950 AN ATI RADEON HD4870 AND WILL UPGRADING THAT LATER ON. IM USING ARTIC COOLER AND 4GIG DDR2 Corsair . AND MY CURRENT MOTHERBOARD IS A ASROCK 770DE. IV LOOKED AT A FEW 1ST THE ASUS M4A79T DELUXE OR YOU CAN GET THE DDR2 MODEL ASWELL IS IT WORTH CHANGING TO DDR3? AND 2ND IS MSI 790FX-GD70 THAT USES DDR3. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A GOOD GAMING BOARD AND IS IT WORTH GETTIN DDR3 BOARD WHEN THE REVIEWS I READ SAY THEY WAS NO DIFFERENCE

welcome to the forum.

Not used amd boards for a long time, but def go ddr3 for future proofing. Not so much of a premium anymore.

Might help to turn caps lock off too chap, bit hard to read.

Cheers mate which do think is better ASUS M4A79T DELUXE or MSI 790FX-GD70 i probs either get another hd4870 and crossfire them or get an 4890 later on

sorry have no recent experience of amd boards, plenty here that will do though. Have you searched for similar posts on here already? Would do for you but posting on phone at mo and it's a bit painful!

I would stick with the single 4870 for now. New dx11 cards due soon, will hopefully mean a good price drop on current gen cards giving option of adding another 4870 then, or picking up 4890's cheaper or going straight to dx11.

What games do you play and on what res monitor?

i recently sold my demoted playstation to a dvd player cos i got fed up of paying for map packs and 40 to 50 pound games so saved money up and built my own pc graphics are a lot better than playstation im playing cod 5 on pc just gettin all free maps and i cant believe they are free 10 times more detail in maps than on playstation. anyway im using my pc through hdmi to my 42 inch panasonic plasma. resolution is 1280x1024 or 1280x1080 both run well
