No it's not.

EA shipped a broken game, then patched it a month later to make it less of a broken game.

But as it stands now it's only the actual driving that's broken.

Most Wanted is probably the best NFS game.

nothing wrong with the driving most sim forums seem fairly happy with the handling since the patch maybe u want a complete arcade experience though likw most wanted..

Hot pursuit is great, but no one plays it on pc anymore so it's not worth it.

I think it's still going strong on xbox though.

There wasn't a better one before (NFS 3: Hot Pursuit is the second best from the older ones) and there definitely wasn't a better one after.

Good call! I'm inclined to agree, though Most Wanted was OK. I haven't tried the new Criterion version, I loved Burnout Paradise so I'd probably like that too?

Need For Speed Porsche 2000 will that even run on XP?

It ran on XP when I first played it through, which was a long time ago now.

I play Race 07, GTR, rFactor etc etc, so no I don't want an arcade experience.

I want a driving game that steers cars from the front wheels and not from some mysterious pivot in the centre of the car and to be able to drive in a straight line without constantly correcting the car. I want to be able to do those things without having to fanny around with my wheel settings for hours at a time or by adding user mods to make the tyres handle correctly. Oh and just for good measure a game that runs well on my high end PC.

NFS Shift 2 (or 1 for that matter) does any of the above.

Underground 2 was fantastic loved that game. Have only actually owned 1 other being Hot Pursuit which I throughly enjoyed but it had no where near the depth of underground. Tempted to buy shift 2 soon

Probably the first Underground, but I thought Carbon is the best of the "modern" NFS streetracing games.

Not spent any length of time with Shift or Shift 2 so can't comment on those.

Mine was the one with the drift mode, probably out around 2002/2003. I remember having a 200sx that allowed me to drift constntly around the courses I think it was NFS Underground.
