I would think the Dual Core would be best. Especially in the future when more apps are made to fully use it.

They will become rare & expensive in the near future, with new programs/games taking full advantage of the extra core

I was thinking that because the A64 had 1MB L2 cache and the X2 had 512Kb L2 cache, it was better. That's a noob for you

If you'd just said gaming, then the 4000+ would be fastest and cheapest overall.

But add the photoshop and other stuff, then the dual core is the best all rounder for your needs.

If you've got the money, you could always get a x2 4400, then you've got a dual core chip and 2x1MB cache.
