Hi all.

Im upgrading my cpu to either a Q6600 or a Q6700. I was offered both cpus for same price. Which cpu would be better for overclocking on stock volts.
my system spec at the moment is stated in my sig.

help appreciated.

same price? Im going to say Q6700. either your paying too much for a q6600 or your getting a good deal on a q6700 OR something is up on the q6700 lol. why are they same price?

they are both 150 quid. and they are both from a mate who owns a computer repair shop. and hes giving me them same price. brand new. so Q6700 ?

sweet - yeah I'd say q6700 but wait for others to reply. oc lists the q6700 as 2.6 where as the energy efficient is at 2.4 (both out of the box). thats not to say though that you will get a better overclock on the q6700.

q6600 database sadly although it doesnt list the 6700 range (I wish it would just list all cpu's as its really helpful) you can get a good idea of what the q6600 can do - is yours a go steppin or b3? maybe that is why the prices are similar - the go is a newer revision and a good oc'er

6700 for the win! (has ocuk really censored f t w? lol!):D

maybe you could push him for a qx9650 for a lower price as he's saving you a good 150 quid on that there 6700 lol.
see its always nice to have contacts like that. tell him steve says hi ;) ;)
