Which is better

I need a new monitor for gaming, but after looking about i see a lot of people suggesting about resolutions etc,

So which is better for gaming, ( primary use ), all game types FPS, RPG, MMO.

It also needs to be good with white text on a black background no blurring etc.

Iiyama ProLite E2607WS 26" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Resolution: 1920x1200

Or

Iiyama ProLite B2712HDS 27" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Resolution: 1920x1080

Which is the better res for gaming with, does the 1" size difference really make that much of a difference.

Or would it be worth getting a really high end 24" if so which one, so many to choose from.

I should have mentioned, this will be used only for PC gaming, no console will be plugged into it, so the

would be the best option, i thinks i shall go order it now

It would be ran at 1920x1200, my current res is 1600x1200, due to the restrictions of my current monitor, whats getting me is all this talk about panels

(ie TN, VA or IPS)

Is that really make a big difference, the Prolite E2607WS has a TN panel, but that means nothing to me...
