I've been told to replace my bread with pitta or tortilla and the weight should drop off me but looking at the packets shows that there is way more calories than bread.

Discuss please.

Well if it's white, there's not much in it. If it's two slices of bread, I'd say worse than 1 pitta stuffed with the same you'd have in the sarnie. Brown better than white.

I think he is recommending you eat them because they are unleavened, not because of a lower calorific content. I can't remember why unleavened breads are meant to be healthier though.

Just by changing this the weight will drop off.. doubt that. Was it a nutritionist/dietician who told you this?

pitta breads are really pretty filling, if you were to have one instead of two slices of bread the difference would be about 10 up to 30 calories depending on the thickness of bread. saying that you dont use butter in a pitta generally so that could also reduce the calories.

In the case of bread, home made > *. I just wish I could take my own advice (I have a breadmaker but never find time to put it to use).
