Hi all, me and my family have had enough of our aging belkin wireless router/modem, its always restarting and has extremely poor coverage!

So solution bye a new one, Me been the Computer minded out of all of us has been sent to look for it!

As far as I'm aware there are three current wireless n modem/routers available at the moment from Belkin, Lynsys and Netgear!

Now with my old router been belkin and with it been utter crap I have chose not to go with them (unless sum1 can persuade me otherwise) and only focus on the other two.

I use a lot of Netgear at work (ICT Technician) most of our network hardware is made up of netgear stackable switches, and friends use netgear in thee homes so that comes highly recomended to me!

Are these the only three available and which 1 is best? thanks

Personally, I like Netgear and never had any major issues with their hardware although no doubt some people will say they hate them etc.

I have the Netgear DG834N router (which is draft n) and the coverage is pretty good when using it on b/g and n hardware. I also have the draft n access point WN802T and both work great together giving me super-reaching ranges.

One thing I would point out, being draft specification the hardware might be liable to change so I wouldn't buy it without realising it could be obsolete come the final ratification, but that said it could be updated via a firmware update pending the changes don't affect the hardware side too much :)

It's quite a pricey ADSL router, but given the range and it's speed (not a bad modem; holds sync at low SNR values) it's not so bad. All depends how much you'd like to tweak things. For example, I find it adequate for port forwarding and my needs but some users may suggest a Billion or Draytek for the added options.. really does depend on what you need it for.

Ok i understand about the obselet bit, but would rather risk it!!

I think I'm gonna go for the netgear, I'll see what the cheapest price is!
