Which is the best graphics card?

Thinking of buying a new graphics card, the 2 I am looking at are:

Gainward BLISS Geforce 7900 GT "Golden Sample" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-033-GW)

Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (3056) (GX-047-CO)

Which is the best bang for buck please. Or does anyone have a better sugestion? I am retired so money is a problem, should I wait till nearer Xmass will there be more new boards out, so the price will drop on theses? Any thoughts would be appriciated.

ATI X1900XT is faster. 7900GT is similar to X1800XT in performance afaik (all at stock)

Yeah, the X1900XT is the more powerful card by some way, more comparable to the 7900GTX than 7900GT - X1900XT's a cracking card, imho

(normally i would have said the X1800XT 256 as that is priced very well & considering its slightly faster at stock than the 7900GT its a bargain, but so is the above)
