Which is the best single graphics card solution?

To be honest, I have owned quite a number of cards from both brands ( as well as Matrox and Orchid Righteous 3d) most recently a 7800GT and then a 1900XT, apart from the actual speed of the upgrade, which was the primary reason for the change, the actual picture quality isnt that noticable on FEAR, GT Legends or SSII
