Hey,

Currently I have a venice @ 2.75GHZ, 1GB ram, x800XT. The problem is... I have a AGP motherboard.

I am not really certain which upgrade route I should take.

I was thinking about buying a Dual Core 939 next month (after the price slash) and grabbing myself an 3800 X2. meanwhile I was thinking of buying a Nforce 4 board, (PCIE obviously) and an x1800XT, along with another PSU.

I was also considering one of the Asrock boards, but am not really certain how well they overclock...

So do people think I should grab the X1800XT and board, or just wait and grab everything at once?

I suppose it depends how quickly you need the performance. I prefer to get whole new systems in one go but I understand oh so well that isnt always possible.

You could get the gfx etc now, but it would mean rebuilding your rig... then when you get your new CPU, dismantling again and then rebuilding. If you dont mind the hassle then get what you can now.

got two asrocks here mate one with 3200 and one with a 3700,
the 3700 is running at 2600mhz rock stable never had a pick of bother ,its got quite good oc bios for a budget board and a budget upgrade path (agp and pcie)

I was going to buy the dual core at the same time, but with the price slash impending I know I would kick myself in a months time :(
