I'm just about to upgrade to a C2D system after my old 462 board died. I'm on a buget of around £80 but the cheaper the better.

Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 - £82.24

EVGA nForce 650i Ultra (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - £52.86

I'm going to be adding an E2160 and want to get a decent clock out of it.

also would prefer 2 x IDE ports as I run 2 x SATA and 2 x IDE disks with 2 x IDE Opticals

let me know your thoughts

Hi,

On advice from this forum, I've just bought the EVGA nForce 650i and paired it with an E2160. I couldn't be more pleased, with stock cooling,stock volts and cheap pc 5300 memory it runs 1:1 at 3ghz.
Temperatures are still settling, currently max out at 60c running orthos.
It does only have one IDE port.

Mike.

650i Ultra only has 1 IDE channel though & the OP wants 2 because he has 4 IDE devices which means the 650i SLI chipset is better for him.
Personally I would probably go for the Gigabyte 650i SLI.
