Which is the better CPU?

I'm just building a gaming rig for my mate and I have the choice between the following two processors but need to know which is the better option.

P4 3.2 Ghz

Pentium Dual Core 1.8 Ghz

If thats the Conroe-based PDC that one, especially when you consider the overclocking potential.

The dual core is E2160 - don't know if it's conroe or not

Deffo get the E2160

You can get over 3 ghz with them and it would smoke the P4 even at stock..

I haven't overclocked for about 18 months or so and it was using DDR400 Ram. Is it still as easy to do with DDR2?

Pretty much, buying DDR2 with higher frequency capability than your chip's native fsb makes it even easier! If you pick up PC6400 you have RAM capable of 400FSB, far higher than the stock Core2 FSB, so you have some overclocking headroom in the RAM just for the CPU, before you even have to touch RAM overclocking, bar upping memory voltage in the case of the some of the higher performance memory's stock recommended voltage of 2.1V
