Which is the better sound?

I just built a new PC and the mobo (Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe) has onboard sound, which is Realtek ALC882 8 channel HD audio (according to the manual).

I also have a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music card installed.

So my question is which should I be using. I will be using HK Creature speakers, which are 2 channel with sub, and also Speedlink Medusa headphones which are 5.1 surround.

Should I disable the onboard and go with the X-Fi?

Yes, it'll use less CPU cycles, and will very probably sound better too.

I actually doubt that there is much difference in CPU cycle, but there is just no reason not to use the X-Fi here.
