M4 or Samsung 830

I had a m4 128gig ssd, it died after 2 months starting with bsod then unable to boot it at all. I didnt even bother sending it back, for me the unreliability of these drives just isn't where it needs to be. Maybe in a year or two i will give them another go if they can get there act together.
Was it on the latest firmwire? There was a problem where the drive wouldn't properly work anymore after 5900 hours (or something like that). The 0009 firmwire has fixed this, Crucial was pretty fast on the fix once the problem become widespread.
On the other hand some bad drives do get through the checks unfortunately, so it could be just you getting unlucky.
I'd sooner have a performance pro over the 830 (what i bought too), much quicker driver in the real world and consistently quick with all data types across all que depths.
Yh i had the 0009 firmware update or what ever the last one was and i never even got the drive anywhere near 5900 hours. I cant remember the exact course of events but first it stopped working in ahci mode after a months use on it so i had to clear cmos and i had to run it in ide for it to install windows. It worked for a bit till i had issues and tried to format the drive again. Upon getting windows to finally install i got to the desktop only to be greeted with a bsod, i threw it away and put the old hd in.
