Hi there.

Upgrading from a 3570k 16gb ram 6700xt.

Keeping the card but probs getting new everything else apart from monitor and hdds.

Was lookin at the 7600x for about 220 and i think the 13500 is about the same ish. So which is better for a system not to be upgraded for another 6+ years. I dont play much games just fishing planet, bit of gta when they come out, x4 foundations would be nice to have smooth but even the most expensive cpus cant deal with it in some areas like stations so i dunno if i should be aiming for that one game. Wouldnt mind playing cyberpunk which i have a bit smoother with rt on as i can sorta get playable with it on and high settings with fsr 2 on auto. But i think cpu holding me back a lot on that.

Most thing i worry about is the 1%lows etc, anything to have them as high as up as i can as i think thats more important to judge than avg or max fps as the 1% lows etc cause stutter or well not fluid motion of gameplay i suppose.

I was thinking of cpu/mb/ddr5 6000 ram is about 130 for 32gb of the stuff i think. A case which i dunno which as too many windowed ones these days, just want somit like my coolmaster 620 rev 2 case but newer i guess, somit smart and good airflow and quiet, no rbg etc.

Etc..

Anyhow, what would be the best all rounder between these two systems with ddr 5 32gb probs about 6000 speed since its only 10 more than a 5600 speed set i think. I want the strongest single core ipc score.

Prefer not to oc and just build the system then turn on and go, no messing with amd pbo or whatever stuff. Cba with overclocking or undervolting stuff.

Im not sure if i need pci-e 5 stuff or not, i mean i might fancy a card with ai accelerators on like a 7000 series but like when dead cheap in a few years, but dunno if i need pci-5 or not. Since current card which ill probs have for a good few years is pci-4 gen.

13500 is a rebadged 12th gen Alder Lake. Not quite in same league as ryzen 7600X. You would need to go 13600K to get same (or better) sort of performance.

Ah, them i think are about 280 ish so dunno if id wana go that high. I could but i dont really wana go above 250 for a cpu kinda.

The 7600x from what i read is about as good as the 58003dx chips, so should be good for sim games or open world yeah?

If I was building a new system right now it would be AMD's AM5 platform without a doubt. Not only do they perform great but the platform will be around for quite a while meaning that you should be able to drop a new release cpu in your AM5 Gen 1 motherboard (with a bios flash) 3 or even 4 years down the line. People have done that on here with their original Ryzen 1000 series builds and just dropped in a 5800X 3D after a bios flash. Reviews have shown that there is little to no performance loss over a new motherboard.

i5-13500 is really the best option for a productivity CPU, it does have decent gaming performance, but the 7600X is superior, as said above.

get AM5 you will essentially be buying your next 2 upgrades.... intel is a dead end socket, if amd release a massive IPC increase cpu next gen, guess what, you can sell your 7600 and slot it in. the Intel socket is DOA now

You can even save yourself a bit more by going for the 7600, in terms of gaming it's not that different from the X version.

The Core i5 13600KF can be had for well under £300 if you shop around, and certainly if you want a motherboard with a PCI-E 5.0 graphics card slot,B760 is cheaper than B650E. The OP also does not really care about upgrading:

So which is better for a system not to be upgraded for another 6+ years.

The Core i5 13600KF does have the E-cores which will handle background tasks, streaming, etc so I would have one over a Ryzen 5 7600/7600X. But TBF,if the OP does not upgrade for 6+ years,I wouldn't go for a CPU with under 8 performance cores anyway. Both the Ryzen 5 7600/7600X and Core i5 13600KF only have six performance cores.

So,a Ryzen 7 7700/7700X and the cheapest B650E motherboard,is what I would look at. That way you have 8 cores which are faster than a console,PCI-E 5.0 main graphics slot and M2 slot. So maybe its another £150~£200 but over 6~7 years I think it is worth it.

or 13700F & B760 is an option, minus the graphics/M.2.
