Which is the next best CPU?

When is the next best cpu coming out? by which i mean best for most increased performance over current ones, or isnt there any coming for a long time?.

I guess quad core is next for a speed boost.

is Phenom gonna be any good or is Penryn better?

The best CPU is always the next one to be released. If you wait for it, you'll wait forever.

Thats like saying to buy a pentium d just before conroe was released or something.
