I am a bit of a networking noob but I am trying to get a off-the-shelf solution to do wireless telemetry using wifi.

So bascially, I need to connect 2 computers together without any cables and one of those computers is a compactRIO which is a data logger used in a racing car. Normally, the compactRIO and the PC are connected together using a crossover cable.

I tried connecting them together using a standard wireless router and it works. However, a standard wireless router is too big and heavy and all I actually need is 1 port and wireless connectivity. I am looking for something that is small, light and use as little power as possible.

So I worked out what I am after is probably a wireless ethernet bridge. So which is the smallest and lightest ethernet bridge out there?

Belkin make some smallish wireless access points & router which should work just as well as a bridge.

Possibly look out for travel routers as they are usually small and power options.

Cant help thinking there must be another way thougyh.
