The G80 has just arrived and the R600 is coming in the new year (I've been told that anyway), but which will give best performance considering both have quite different designs. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the R600 will be a total overhaul and will have completely unified vertex and pixel shaders and so on, where I have heard that although the G80 has this it is not a total overhaul and that Nvidia's card is more traditional than ATI's new offering.

Is this true???

Which will perform better?
