I just got off the phone to Santander and my eISA is getting an enormous 0.6%!!!111one
I have a few thousand saved.

Santander do some alright % accounts, they are all for new customers with a new ISA - Basically anything I find an advert for is NOT for transfers under £9000.

Just wondered if anyone at OCUK has come across anything good in the last week or two.

Tbh if I could get 3% I would be happy. The account has to be easy access with no interest rate drop if I make a withdrawal.

The money is for uni next year, but I feel 0.6% is a mick take and the money may as well be on my current account!

A&L had last week..

5% on a current account with them up to £2,500 as long as you deposit £500/month..
3.5% ISA..

A current account is needed with them for the ISA..

Seemed good to me then, but I had no proof of address on me. Hoping to open one tomorrow with whoever has the best now. Money Supermarket will help!

I just opened the A&L/Santander one. Nice of them to drop the rate already -- now that it's the new tax year and people can actually use their new allowance

That ISA has a withdrawal penalty

^^ Ah no, I was refering to that one too. I'm pretty sure it was 3.5% before it went down to 3.2%..

Just checked to make sure my final payment got in on time! And joys, guess what, it hasnt. So I was short of using up my full allowance because the final 1.4k didnt get payed in fast enough with Lloyds TSBs uber past payment processing.

What really pee's me off is that in every other month, the payment comes out on the 1st, and the shows up on the 2nd. This time round, it didnt happen!

Bah!

The 2nd was good friday, ie, not a banking day...

First direct offering 2.65% with easy access and transfers in.

Used them last year and they seemed to have good customer service as well

I've moved mine from Halifax ISA Saver Direct (0.5%) into a Halifax Direct Reward (2.6%).

I got a whopping £60 interest in the whole of last year :(

Think im going to take this one up as well. Im on a fixed one with the Halifax at the moment which expires on the 23rd.

They dropped it at the end of last week. Its still the market leader.

One thing I have learnt is you have to move your money round every year if you want to keep the interest coming in.

Common bank practise is to bring out a "new" accound with a low base interest rate and a high "bonus for the first year" rate. Once you have got the 1 year out the way transfere it to a new similar account.

You dont always have to switch banks, im with santander and just about to move my isa into the issue 6 (i think) im staring to loose track. As for savings I dont know whats the best yet, I need to do some research.

The NatWest E-ISA is still paying 2.50% and you can transfer into that.
I opened mine at the beginning of last year and got nearly 5% for that first year.
Shopping around I can't find a lot better so I've left my cash in there.

You will be getting 2.75-3.01% which is fairly good.

New customers would get 2-2.25%, not fantastic.
