Hi all,

Looking for recommendations on an ISP for my mum.

The following services are available in your location:

BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale SDSL
Bulldog LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Pipex LLU
Now Wireless
21CN PSTN migration due Jul-Sep 2008
21CN IP migration due Apr-Jun 2010

According to BT Wholesale, your line should be able to support a 3Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.

She's not really going to be downloading, so not too worried about throttling etc. Looking for something relaiable with decent support if possible.

Also, would like a wireless router to be included in the price.

Was looking at the BT Broadband Option 3, which includes wireless router, BT phone, etc for £27 a month.

Thanks in advance

Get whatever works best and is cheapest?

Something like 13.99 package from Nildram

Wireless router you can pickup for ~£40. Don't get lured by freebies, they aren't really free.

When I put my Mum & Dad onto broadband I chose Zen, not the cheapest, but very good support and reputation.
They're on the basic package with 2GB cap (they get nowhere near this).

Also helped to reassure them that I showed all the awards and ratings Zen got.

great service, expensive if you haven't got ADSL activated already as there's a £55 activation charge.

loads of places do small capped £10 p/m lines.

in fact the tiny capped lines work better most of the time than the max lines!
