Hello im after changing my adsl for a few reasons

One is because im on bt since day one really and still costing 30£ a month for 512 lol.

But mainly is because the connection is being thottled as im sure you have heard.
This is no good for utorrent :( damn annoying.

i wont be able to get anything over 2meg because of my area.

so im after 2meg max
no d/load limit
and cheapest stable hassle free connection

any ideas as ive only ever used one??

It doesn't depend on area, it depends on line stats - what are yours? I couldn't get anything more than 1Mb on the antiquated attenuation rules, but I get 5Mb now - I wouldn't rule it out. Besides, not many offer home2000 now.

no d/load limit and cheapest stable hassle free connection
These two don't go together. You're not going to find any service that doesn't have either a download cap or traffic shaping. You have to pick which you like. The less you pay, the worse your service.

If you don't mind scheduling downloads for off-peak hours, the Enta resellers are probably most suited to your requirements. Check out UKFSN, Aquiss and the like.

I'm in Southampton. My line is not too good - 3half kils from exchange - and was told by BT that I could only get 1m download.
If you are in an area where the exchange is opened up by Easynet aka ukonline/sky then check out http://www.ukonline.net/home/broadband/upto1Mb.php?sso_auth=0
I have the £19.99 a month with no setup fee but a year contract. I am getting 8000 down and 768 up. I am using a Thomson Speedtouch 780WL with Broadcom chipset; incredible for hanging on to bad lines (comes with dying gasp)I also have a Billion 7402 VGP but that aint in the same league for hanging on and connection speed. With ukonline, I have never heard of anyone having problems with how much they download.
My attenuation is 42 down / Noise 6. Its great on good Torrents seeing them, coming in at 4000

to get sky braodband do i have to have there phone, tv package aswell??

i just wont to pay like the ten quid for adsl, no more to sky, hate the idea of paying sky in the first place lol

im just over 3k form my exchange,

looking at ukonlike 2meg package for £15 a month , looks good, do they traffic the connection as i download torrents?

In respect of ukonline I have not noticed any restriction in respect of torrents or any other activity - when downloading using Flashget get over 8000. Have you checked out that they are in your exchange? As you are just over 3 kils from exchang you could well get 8000/768. With the 1 and 2 meg packages there is a £25 setup fee only the 8 and 24 are free of setup fee

Not *that* bad (not that good either!). There's not much to go on without some sync speeds and SNR margins though. At a guess, you'll get 2Mb - give or take.

They'll tell you there isn't a problem, and they won't do anything. Mainly because short of running you a brand new line, or moving the exchange or your house, they can't do anything.

How are you getting these figures? What adsl router are you using? What are the noise figures?
As things stand, any package with ukonline is better than that you now have with BT

At a wild guess, the kind of areas that have long lines with poor attenuation tend to be rural exchanges that don't have a lot of users - so are unlikely to have been unbundled by people like UKO. I may be wrong though - this needs to be checked out as an opportunity - as LLU is where the best deals are to be had, as you say.

ahhh what, well thats poo for me then, even if i tell them its dropping out and its been fine for last year??
If that's a lie, then it will do you no good.

last thing then do you have to be a sky customer to get sky bb??? as ill go with that , its only £10 see how i get on

ahhh sorry to have bothered you, finally found only the connect package is available to non sky peeps, you think uko they way forward?
