Hi

I'm moving house and only have about 3 weeks left on my BT broadband contract. I've set up to have the line connected at the new house and to save hassel I was going to stay with BT at a cost of £20 / month.

I've just seen that as an O2 customer I can have broadband for £7.34.

Anyone use O2 broadband and is it any good? If so, I cancel the BT one and swap.

Cheers

BT are one of the worst ISP's in the UK these days, get away from them as soon as possible. I'm with O2 and so are my parents now, best ISP I've been with and great price. You can get a discount if you have access to an O2 mobile as well.

Here are some reasons to ditch BT:
  • Their involvement with PHORM and secret trials in the past.
  • Their aggressive shaping of all non-HTTP traffic the majority of the day.
  • Their high monthly cost.
  • Their bandwidth limits.
  • The locked down HomeHub that is a piece of junk.

To be honest, leaving BT for whomever is an improvement so if you prefer O2 to other ISPs out there then go for it. As long as long as you leave BT.

are you with Sky for your TV, or thinking about getting sky TV, if so, go with them, if your exchange is on their network you can bet the basic 2mb bb for free, or pay extra for mid or max.

Yea I think there's sky at the house - well there better be as I'm using it now in my current home. Didn't realise you could have 2mb free. Thats probably all I need - cheers

With Sky as part of package and never had any problems. Had one outage for half a day in 6 months we have had package. Better than when I was with Be who kept cutting our net than apologising over their bafflement.
