Which ITX AM4 board?

I'm thinking to build a budget ITX system, mostly with spare parts I have lying around. Be using a Ryzen 3 3100 (but might get a 5600X hand-me-down / upgrade in a couple of years), 1650 Super, 16GB 3200, SATA SSD.

I need a board (with WiFi) though, can't decide between an A520 or B450 board, B550 are ~£50 more expensive and out of budget for this build.

Contenders are: Gigabyte A520I AC ~£110
MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC ~£100

Is the A520 too cut down? Is the B450 out of date - given I might want to use a Zen 3 at some point?

The B450 might not support the 3100 out of the box. It doesn't look like it has bios flashback, so you'd have to get hold of an older cpu to update it.

As a non-max MSI board, you'd probably have the cut down "lite" bios as well.

Gigabyte produce the best ITX for b550/a520 under their aorus brand and thats seeped into their gigabyte range

if your happy to let ryzen run its own speed then a520 will be fine! should boost higher then stated across all cores. that gigabyte A520 can handle 16 cores just fine!
with 8 layer PCB can hit 5000hz ram speed witht he right chip, but 3600 would be more then enough or 3200hz overclocked

@dv101

could go b450 aorus ?
