If you want a clean cut ie no noticable chopping Ive done it using a circular saw and 40 tooth blade (face the good edge opposite you with frog tape and tie it to another piece of wood to be cut)
Not sure if it can be done with a jigsaw without fraying
As above though, a circ saw is probably better for MDF, unless you need to make curved cuts. MDF is quite tough on the blades and will take off the edge quite quickly, which then leads to less clean cuts.
Thanks for the advice. The cutout isn't really big enough to justify putting a circular saw to it and it would mean having to buy another tool when i already own a jigsaw.
