Which joypad and what racing game

I have used a joystick for racers and its ok but i want to try a pad, is the 360 pad the best. Is a pad the best options I dont want a wheel.

I want a racing game to go with above not too arcady but not too pure sim either.

I Have played Moto GP 2 and Grid in the past and enjoyed it, I 1st began PC gaming on Geoff Crammond F1 on a 486 and loved that too

Its the best upgrade i've ever made. I'd honestly consider a wheel if you ever want to play a lot of racing games.

DF:GT and GT5. Perfect match

Its just such a faff getting it out and setting it up
