Hey guys, need some advice.

I've currently got the Saitek Eclipse 2, which I've had since release but I'm now wanting a new gaming keyboard.

Requirements are pretty much; back lighting and media keys (if possible)

I'm also wanting to replace my SteelSeries Siberia Headphones because the wire/connector is dodgy.

I mainly game/listen to music and watch quite a few films/series.

I wanting to spend no more than £50 on each item.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Microsoft X4 for the keyboard

for the headphones I'm using some cheap Koss SB19's (I think they're about £25) at the moment, the sound quality is pretty good and despite being quite plasticky they do not break.

What exactly is the point in an expensive keyboard? I see the reason for spending more on a mouse but surely a keyboard is a keyboard?
I've been using a clunky old Dell one I've had for years and I can't see why I'd ever spend £50 on a keyboard.

I have a Speedlink Medusa headset, it's really good. Got it from the MM.

i would think /look for details on the z fang keypad, i have it and its better than a keyboard. :) i also have G11..but i couldnt use it to play games on tbh -_- I just got it as it was on sale at the time.

Depends what you need it for and what you're looking to get out of the keyboard.

Having gone from a £5 keyboard to a DiNovo Edge, I definitely notice the difference. It's so smooth, comfortable, much quicker to type, and looks awesome!

The G15 has good response from the keys and feels good when playing FPS games. Also, having programmable G keys for key bindings would be really useful for RPG games and the like.

Goldring DR50/150 or Sennheiser HD555 + desktop/clip-on mic

Don't go near the Speedlink Medusa or Fatal1ty crap you can get far superior for the price.

Gaming keyboards are pointless, only exception I can think of is MMOs if you want extra extra bindings.

I have the Creative fatal1ty headset, and the sound quality is not that good. I would have expected better to be completely honest (And I only paid £15 brand new for them!). Spend your money elsewhere. (They do them reasonably durable though), but naff for music listening... way to bassy/murky).

I use Sennheiser 595s too and I'd suggest the 555's for you. They are slightly over your budget but they sound amazing and they are so comfy, the soft pads sit all over my ears and never feel uncomfortable. They have lasted me 5 years so far and show zero issues despite me doing my best to beat them up. They are open as a word of warning - people around you will be able to hear what you're listening to and some sound will leak in. This is my sort of experience but if you like to be shut off from the world then don't pick these up.

Most headsets sound like crap. By that I mean I have not heard a good sounding headset yet.

Microsoft X4 looks like a nice and reasonably priced keyboard.

With that said, any USB keyboard with standard layout would do.
