Which language would you use for this?

I want to write my blockchain, but I'm not sure which language to use. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm happy to learn something new.

Go/Rust.

Also out of curiosity .. write your own blockchain, or a client for an existing one?

Yep, write my own brand new blockchain. I've been looking at Go and it looks very promising. Thank you.

Not something I've touched on but I've seen a lot of Python/Blockchain talk.

Python is my primary programming language. I'll probably build a test in it and then rewrite in a faster language.

I don't know anything about blockchain. But if high performance is needed then C++ is hard to beat. However I would probably use Go as it's close to C++ performance while being a higher level language so easier and faster to write.

If performance isn't needed then probably Python.

I've been looking for a project to use C++ on for some time. I have a few books on it. This might just be the excuse I need.
