Been saving a for a while and got some cash to spend on a laptop for a bit of gaming while I work away (Tend to stay in a lot of hotels with work) Generally anything goes spec wise, I just wanted a 15" screen.

So far these 2 have caught my eye

MSI GS60 2PC Ghost Gaming Laptop
Intel Core i7-4710HQ
8GB RAM + 1TB HDD + 128GB SSD
15.6 LED + NVIDIA GTX 860M
No optical drive

MSI GE60 2PE-427UK Apache Pro Gaming Laptop
Intel Core i7 4710HQ
12GB RAM + 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD
15.6" LED + NVIDIA GeForce GTX860M
Bluray

Now they're both pretty much the same, bar the bluray and type of case its all housed in. Anyone got any reviews or had any of the above? or anything else to consider? From a brief look into the MSI models. I take the GS range is the premium type range not sure where the GE falls into things.

Thanks

While away, I guess anything from Battlefield 4, Guild wars 2 to just indie games and SP stuff (xcom, tomb raider, dragon age)

So everything, haha. Though I dont expect to rock it all on Ultra like my desktop. Just need my fix for the weeks I work away!

EDIT

Google-fu has turned up the GS60 keyboard isnt true back lighting, seems it just shadows around the keys compared to the GE60 which is full on magical. The bluray drive would be okay to i guess for watching films while away. Then on the other hand it seems the GE60 has poor heat management and only 1 fan does the GPU /CPU while the GS60 has 1 for each. So still 1 for 1! Haha

I had this exact debate a couple of weeks ago as I'm away with work a bit and needed something I could lug around and use for gaming and general internet.

I went with the GE60 in the end. Having the Blu Ray drive built in just gives it that bit of extra versatility which I couldn't argue against. It's also not that much heavier or thicker than the GS model, and as it's a bit thicker there's more space for cooling so it doesn't get quite as boiling hot in the lap when gaming!

It is brushed metallic, looks very smart. Not obviously a gaming laptop if you turn the back lights off on the keyboard so quite discrete really. Does show fingerprints up though!
