Which laptop for £350-ish

A mate of mine is after a laptop as a gift for his parents. He's got a modest budget of £350. Are there any surefire winners at around this price point? His parents will be using it mainly for internet, basic office stuff. No games or anything heavy-duty.

Any suggestions to save him randomly picking a winner in the high street?

Just got one for the wife £399.99. Its well made and runs very nicely. And very cool which is very nice as it sits on her lap.

the main other make is Acer (which she didnt like)
