Hi all,
i've had me trusty old Toshiba Sat Pro for 4 years now.
It has a T5500 cpu and harmon Kardon speakers which do sound very nice when playing music through them.
Recently i replaced the hdd with an Intel X25-M 80gb SSD and put 4gb of ram in and the thing flies with win7 pro x64.
Now...i''ve acquired a laptop with i3-380M cpu in. It's obviously newer than the Toshy, but i'm wondering if its worth jumping ship and putting the SSD into the i3 lappy.
Here is the comparison of both cpu's.

The T5500 has a 2mb L2 cache, but no L3, compared to the i3 which has 512kb L2 and 3mb L3. The T5500 clock speed is also quite a bit slower.
But then, i still buy company laptops that are current models with the T4400 cpu in which can't touch the 4 year old T5500.
So, part from the newer architecture of the i3 could it be worth switching?
It won't have decent speakers, but it does have built-in webcam....and again, its newer.
I'd also have the hassle (albeit not too major) of re-installing everything again.
Your thoughts please?
