Just looking at purchasing a new laptop for general use, Just looking at the 2 following options

DELL Inspiron Q15R Switch 15.6" Laptop
£400, i3 Proccessor / 3GB ram / 500GB HDD

OR...

DELL Inspiron Q15R Switch 15.6" Laptop
£480, i5 Proccessor / 4GB ram / 500GB HDD

Would it be worth an extra £80 for the 1GB ram and processor power? Or does somebody else have a suggestion!

Does general use include gaming? Make sure you search for dell discount vouchers, theres a working 15% off right now and also check the dell deals on the main page, they will probably have the 15r on special.

Actually i was referring to the retail part of the site for NEW items. If you hunt around enough you can combine deals to get huge savings. The laptop i'm after for example gets about 35% reduction + a token 5% off discount off any accessories and thats brand new. Thats also without lifting the phone to try and squeeze a little more from a good customer sales rep!

Sure the outlet is always worth a look, but for the last week, i haven't seen anything close to the spec i want and i have no idea how long it would take to get my spec from the outlet. Granted in this case for the OP, the outlet will certainly offer something at a bargain.

I just had a quick look on the outlet and it seems the 15r starts at £278 ex vat for the i3 and i5's are about £420-440+ Vat. As i said it was a quick look, but assuming the other specs are up to scratch it would appear that your £480 for the i5 or the £340ish for the outlet i3 inc vat.

Buy the best you can afford. If you can stretch the extra £80 then go for it.
