Looking to pick up a Dell D620 at some point. Most have Intel 945 onboard graphics but some have Quadro MVS 110M 256mb.

What is the performance difference between the two for gaming? I'd probably only use it for the odd bit of CS Source or Eve Online.

Ta.

Edit: Just had this moved somewhere more appropriate..

I'm basically looking to spend £350-£400 on a laptop to use for messing around at Uni and browsing the web in random places. I've got a high end desktop so it wont ever be my main machine.

Liked the D620 as I used them on placement and they were reliable and felt well built. I like things that feel high quality and well built.

Is a used D620 my best option or do better laptops exist for the money? I've looked at the Inspirons and whilst arguably the spec suits me better they look and feel cheap and nasty.

I'm not buying it for gaming but it would be nice if it would do some gaming.

I've noticed that on the used market, you can pick up a D620 for about £300-£400. They are solid, nice, portable machines and I really like them.

Next question is what difference the CPU's make - appears to come in 1.7Ghz, 1.83Ghz, 2Ghz and 2.3Ghz form.

Faster is better, obviously, but is the 1.83 perfectly acceptable?

Yes the Core Duo 1.83GHz will be fine :) and is an excellent chip.

Theres a nice review at notebook forums of the 620 which should answer all you questions http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2846&laptop=Dell+Latitude+D620+Review

Edit/ Are the above links okay?

Very useful.
