Which Laptop

Currently on the market for a laptop for general use. Want to spend around £400. I have had bad experiences with Dell so I don't want one of them. So far I found the Asus Essential PU551LA Core i7-4510U 4GB 500GB 15.6 inch and The HP 350 G2 Laptop 15.6" 5th Gen Core i5 Intel 8GB RAM 500GB. What is everyone's opinion on these or what do you recommend. Windows 7 btw. thanks
