Do i want a £700 laptop with 4k properties or a £700 laptop with just full HD, but better spec?

This is my current 4k contender -

but will this model below still have a better display at just full hd - ?

Any help thank you! Just want to get the best for the money

4k on a 15" screen is utterly pointless. You have to use windows scaling to make things big enough to see, and scaling is still not without bugs. Your battery last substantially less time too.

What you actually going to be using the laptop for?

For an extra £300, could get a laptop with 120hz 1080p screen with g sync and gtx 1060gb. Gaming laptop obviously.

Just spends what you want.

Some time ago I spent 1.7K on a laptop, option for 4K were not there.

I had zero worry about that fact, at 17.3 I would like a 1440p option which also didn't realistically exist, so IPS 1080 it was, that said
without scaling I cant see how 4K works on any mobile device, with scaling (and all it's current issues) I see battery drain with little benefit, if someone knows of a reason for mobile 4K, let me know.

Just wiegh up your apples up. If you are spending so much on a laptop, spending a little bit extra is worth it like I said in my post.

I have 2 laptops, and the laptop with the ips screen is great, deep blacks, nice crisp whites, and games looked great!

The 1.3k one is great, but not as good as the ips.

If screen quality your thing, go with ips mate rather than TN.

Try the place similar to index, was a great price on a Medion laptop.

The U based i5/i7 are pretty weak. I bought a Asus Rog Strix (GL553VD) to replace my sofa/astronomy laptop for 750 off amazon.

quad core i5 (7300hq)
8gb ram
1050 4gb gpu
hybrid hdd (128gb ssd + 1tb slowmo drive)

It's no beast and it looks awful, but I only really bought it for the rgb keyboard (red backlight doesn't mess with night vision when out with telescope).

Weak for gaming? For word processing / web browsing stuff it’s way more than adequate.
