im looking to buy a monitor that will fit on my desk which has a limited height.
from the desk to the ceiling slope is about 37 cm where the laptop is placed now. (which is the place i want it to be) iv looked about but all the decent monitors are 19" which will be too big. anyone got any smallish monitors that are under 37cm tall and have no ghosting when playing games. thanx

Hi!

You should be able to fit a 17" monitor or a 19" widescreen monitor in that space

My brother's got two LG1750H 17" monitors and they're very good and height adjustable. He bought them a little while ago though so you might not be able to get them any more. I'd measure them but he's gone back to uni :)

I'm not that sure about which of the current crop of 17" and 19" widescreen monitors are best but I think that's what you should be looking at

The Viewsonic VA1912W though is 39.1cm high with the stand (link). You'll probably just have to have a look at the specifications on the manufacturer's websites

Remove the stand from the monitor and use a wall mount with an arm ?

Cheers,

Mark

Edit : I have got Dual Sharp LL172 A 17" monitors (about 12months old) great quality screens and 375mm high

If the price of a 19" isnt a problem this would be the route i'd take. I found that side by side my dell 2005FPW wasnt QUITE as tall as my 17" tft.
Sure things have moved on a bit as the 17" TFT at the time was the (then) legendary hitachi CWL??? one but you may find space isnt so bad on an arm. Do you have space to have screen slightly more forward of right against the wall (so if it was on arm it could come closer to keyboard?)
