Which lens for a trip to London ?

I'm off down to London with the Mrs and kids next Monday for a few days, sightseeing and mooching about.

We're training it down and the kids are only 4 and 6 so looking to travel as light as possible, but really want to take my camera, but the question is which lens to take as I cant see there being much chance of taking a selection

I have :

• 10-20 mm
• 18-55 mm Kit lens
• 35 mm Prime
• 70-210 mm

I was thinking the 35 mm prime but then was thinking of the wide angle for the sight seeing / landmark opportunities - decisions decisions - any thoughts / suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks all, im torn as im sure there will be great opportunities for the sights, city-scapes and architecture (so would go for the 10-20) but its not great for up close family shots.

The kit lens is very adaptable but don't want to lose out for the sight seeing photo opportunities - may have to try and squeeze in the 10-20 and the kit (or 35mm ) :S

So, I defo think I made the right choice with the 35 and 10-20, luckily had some great weather too

Lovely photos. Not a big fan of the processing, but that is just a personal thing
#12 is my fav, #9 my least and #10 I would want in colour.

I just liked the light and shape the opening made on 9 and the whole interior of the main hall at the NH Museum is awesome

i like number 12 and 4, i never know if BandW works or not..i think depends on my mood..is number 4 available in colour?

need to take my 10-22mm to london!

Thank you - I personally like some in B&W better - some colour - again I guess it's personal preference

DP,would you explain what he has done to the photos that you don't like,this pp is all new to me and i wonder how you know what it is he's changed from out of the camera?

I think it's the clarity / sharpening - it's quite obvious on a loft the pics

I tend to take my Tokina 11-17 to London which works well.

Yeah the 10-20 was a great choice to take

did well with the reflections, i dunno what one i like the best actually!

Flickr will auto sharpen embedded resizes so when possible always choose native size when copying the share bbcode link and upload a max 1280 pixel wide one I guess to be fairly forum friendly - This stops oversharpening on already sharpened images

Nice clear shots though, surprised the view from the wheel is as clear too, always heard people complain about reflections and flares from the glass. The few reflections you have there could be somewhat easily sorted in editing I reckon. I have no say on your colour processing though, some work for my own taste, others don't but this is all subjective so I don't really have a say in what's good or bad!

Yes, reflections were a mare and spoilt a lot of shots but some are more than acceptable with a crop and / or bit of editing
