The z-680 has won lots of rewards when it came out, and now Logitech has improved the 680 by bringing out the z-5500. Basically its the same as the z-680 accept with a bigger sub, more options on the control pod, but the quality of sound is more or less the same. heres peoples comments about the z-5500.

*Gasp*.... I was amazed as soon as i grabbed the box.. Huge!! Got it home and opened it up right away... everything i needed was there, plus a massive Subwoofer!! I got it set up in minutes with more than enough wires for the speakers and let it rip! The sound that comes from the speakers is crystal clear!! Adjust the sub to preference and let it pound with the addition of your soundcard and its software!! The sound is incredible, sounds amazing even form the other side of my house, no distortion! If you were to listen to a water droplet, you would hear every splash, every ripple, and every echo to perfection... AHHHH I wanna go home and listen to music!!

OH, MY, GOD! Within 10 minutes of opening the box this system was hooked up and spitting forth the best sound I've ever heard in a home theater system! I've got no more time for Sony systems that cost $1,000+. Crystal clear sound at any volume... Hold on, the neighbor is pounding on the door insisting I turn my music down! I would've been happy with my purchase even if I'd paid 3, 4, or even 5 times what it cost!! BUY ONE AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF!! I DARE YOU!

I got this system for Christmas, and let me tell you...I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED! This system has been all it was cut out to be. Easy setup, HUGE 10'' sub(the bigger the boomier, size is everything when it comes to these!), very nice, high performance satelites, and a great control pod. fits on my desk, easy to connect my computer(6 CH sound), iPod, PS2(optical), and DVD player(coaxial) to it all at once. very simple setup, 2nd thing you see when you open box is a big paper showing you exactly how(1st thing was a big warning on yellow paper about not placing the sub w/in 2 feet of ANY electronics appliance) to set it up. Perfect sound at full volume, and...no feedback at low volume! all speakers are controlled seperately, and its THX certified, and includes DTS and Dolby Pro Logic 2(c) encoders. Best speaker system I've ever had! A must-buy for those with the money.

I LOVE THESE SPEAKERS. The z5500 speakers are the best. I hooked it up to my Xbox and the sound is amazing,the bass is so loud that you can wake up your friends a street away. When i play the theme feels so real that you think you are in the game and feel exitment. WOW!!!!!

Amazing. Had 0 problems and would buy them again and again. The subwoofer, on the other side of the room about 15 feet away, was so powerful that after listening to it 5 minutes at 3/4 volume, it rattled a mug off of the shelf above the computer I'm sitting at which dropped and cut me. Make sure nothing can fall, because this system will do the trick. Buy it now.
