HDMI Black Level = Low

My issue is, low has fantastic colours, really in depth. However, sometimes far too dark, adjusting brightness/contrast ruins colour.

Normal is night and light, but grey most of the time.

Which do you prefer?

Looks like your screen doesn't support "blacker than black" so you are crushing your blacks (losing a lot of detail) and getting really inaccurate and overblown colours.

if normal is too bright and low is too dark, that suggest to me that you havent got the screen set up correctly for either. id check that first.

I have setup the screen the best I can. Guess it's now to the point that I need to upgrade.

I am leaving it on normal for now, bought a Sony BDP (blu ray player) from a fellow member on here today, hopefully I can mess around with it this weekend and see what settings are best then.

limited. every video format you are ever likely to play on that display will be limited, that includes all tv broadcasts, dvd AND bluray. full range is only of use for connecting a pc OR if the console games happen to take advantage of it, but i am certain that when playing a game on the 360 or ps3, they are limited too. Not sure about the 360 over vga though.

When I am on my 360/ps3 I always choose Expanded/true black, It does make a noticeable difference

I use a 24" Full HD monitor just for Xbox 360 gaming via VGA. Setting is on expanded and I personally think the colors looked much better then when on standard.
