I have a basic webstore that essentially has two lines, and I can't see any expansion on those two lines in the near future.

The webstore is basically a paypal cart with checkout, this is limited in functionality, as I cant have customers seeing previous orders, different postage types etc etc or mark goods dispatched/pay by cheque etc.

I have seen http://www.romancart.com/

Are there any low cost options that are preferably outsourced, so I don't have to worry about upgrades etc?

Thanks for your help.

Not sure exactly what you are after or what you consider low cost.

You will be lucky to find something that has a one time payment that they upgrade and maintain for you.

Does http://www.foxycart.com/come within your low cost description & the features you need? Also speak to your host/ web designer they may work something out to look after the store.

I have used Romancart it is a decent system, I integrated it with Google checkout, Paypal and Nochex. I am now using Zen Cart and processing my own orders, the downside of that is you need to pay for a SSL certificate and a recent PHP upgrade made by my host messed everything up for a while with the cart and a compatibility issue.

Hi,

In the past I've used OpenCart and Ubercart. They may be a bit overkill, but both are free. I found them both more than sufficient for all my needs :)

Thanks.

Interspire's Big Commerce is hosted. It may be suitable, not sure on cost/functionality you're after.

No you don't. You only need SSL if you are hosting the payment pages yourself.

I use Zencart, and all the payment pages are hosted by the respective companies. Once its all set up, then there is no maintenance required. It is a faff getting everything set up just right though!
